The Invisalign Treatment Process
A beautiful, confident smile can truly change your life. Understanding how the Invisalign treatment process works is the first step toward helping you attain that beautiful, life-changing smile you’ve always dreamed of.
Invisalign aligners are becoming a popular procedure to help correct crooked, crowded or misaligned teeth. Here’s a step-by-step explanation about how the process works:
Your Initial Consultation (complimentary)
First, call us to schedule your free initial consultation so we can determine whether or not you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign. Once qualified, we will describe the treatment process in detail to make sure you have a full understanding of the benefits, process and maintenance of your Invisalign aligners. At this time, we welcome you to ask any questions you have about the Invisalign procedure to make sure you fully understand what the process entails..
Your Personal Treatment Plan
In order to create your custom Invisalign treatment plan, we will take x-rays and dental impressions in order to get a complete overview of your mouth. A precise dental plan will be mapped out for you based on the current state of your teeth and gums. Your dentist will then carefully track the movement of your teeth and provide you with new aligners every other week to gradually shift your teeth into place.
Thanks to our state-of-the-art technology, we are even able to provide you with a three dimensional virtual animation of how your teeth will shift during each stage of the process. Although the duration of each person’s treatment plan varies with each patient, adults will typically wear their aligners for about a year, while teens may wear them for longer similar to traditional braces.
The aligners are to be worn throughout the day and only taken out when you eat and drink. Make sure to brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in. Because they are virtually invisible to others, people will not even realize you are wearing them, and each day your teeth will gradually shift into the position you desire.
Receiving Your Custom Aligners
Once your treatment plan is mapped out, a set of custom-designed aligners will be made especially for you. These aligners are comprised of a BPA-free plastic that is fits smoothly and comfortably in your mouth, eliminating the irritation that metal braces may cause
The office will schedule regular check-up visits every six weeks to ensure your progress is moving in the manner intended. Every two weeks, you will wear a new set of aligners in order to gradually shift your teeth into position. For best results, they should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day. Your dentist will be able to show you how much change your teeth have undergone and how much closer you are to that smile you’ve been dreaming of.
Now that you’ve completed your treatment, you will have a set of teeth that will make you never want to stop smiling! To learn more about the Invisalign treatment process, contact our office today to schedule your complimentary initial consultation.
